About the Event
Smoke Your Butt Off Backyard BBQ is Be The Light, Speak Up, Speak Out’s largest annual fundraiser. What began as a backyard cook off has grown into a beloved community tradition that brings families, friends, and neighbors together for a day filled with connection, laughter, and purpose.
This family friendly event raises vital funds for suicide prevention, mental health education, and local support programs, all while creating space for joy, remembrance, and meaningful conversation.
What to Expect
Smoke Your Butt Off is a full day of fun for all ages. Activities include:
• Pork butt cook off featuring 15 teams from across the region
• Free will donation tasting and voting for the best pulled pork
• Yard Olympics and games for all ages
• Silent auction and raffle prizes
• Vendor Village with local businesses and makers
Whether you come to compete, taste, shop, volunteer, or simply spend time with friends, there is a place for everyone.
The Main Event: Pork Butt Cook Off
Fifteen teams gather to prepare some of the best pulled pork around. Event attendees are invited to sample each team’s entry with a free will donation and vote for their favorite. Proceeds directly support Be The Light programs and mental health initiatives in our community.
