Get Involved
Be The Light, Speak Up, Speak Out is built on people who care deeply about mental health and community connection. Whether you have time to give, a business to support with, or a story to share, there is a place for you here. Every form of involvement helps replace silence with support and reminds others they are not alone.

Volunteer With Us
Volunteers are the heart of Be The Light. From helping at events and supporting Thrift & Gift to assisting with outreach and community programs, volunteers make our mission possible. You do not need special training or experience. Just a willingness to show up with compassion and care.
Our Mission
Sponsor an Event
Event sponsors play a vital role in funding suicide prevention efforts, mental health education, and community support programs. Sponsoring an event like Smoke Your Butt Off Backyard BBQ helps expand our reach while demonstrating your commitment to mental health and community wellbeing.
Share Your Story
Personal stories have the power to reduce stigma and remind others they are not alone. If you are comfortable sharing your lived experience with mental health, loss, or healing, your story can help bring hope to someone who needs it.
Sharing is always optional, and stories may be shared anonymously.

Me and my mom love coming down to shop at your store and support your cause of suicide awareness. We always have a great time seeing you guys and talking about life, and we always leave in such a great mood after being there.
We are north of Springfield, but we will gladly make the drive because your store means so much to so many people.

The blessing box more than helped my household. Every single food item was useful ,used, and appreciated. It also shined a light letting us know people do still care. The time everybody put in and love we felt was immense. Thank you truly.

Receiving the Blessing Box helped my family so much — we truly enjoyed the meal. It reminded me why I love living in a small town with such caring people. The contents were incredibly useful and easy to access; we had everything we needed for Thanksgiving, and my kids were even able to help make some of the food, which made it extra special.
